Eddid Financial Launches New Phase of the "Boundless Love Charity Program" Supporting Local Healthcare and Environmental Causes

(May 12 2025, Hong Kong) – Eddid Financial (“the Group”) has officially launched the second quarter of its “Boundless Love Charity Program” this year. As part of the initiative, the Group continues to support various local charitable organizations through donations, giving back to the Hong Kong community. This quarter's beneficiaries include the Maggie Cancer Caring Centre and the Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation Society.

Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre is an independent charitable organisation registered in Hong Kong. Being a charity without government funding, it relies largely on generous donations from individual donors. The Centre is adjacent to the Oncology Department of Tuen Mun Hospital, it helps people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, providing professional and holistic cancer care services including practical information, emotional and psychosocial support to anyone with cancer, their families and friends, whatever kind of cancer and whatever stage they are at. All its services are free, and no appointment or referral is needed.

The Centre is a healing place for visitors to drop-in anytime they like; it is a place where cancer patients can meet with the multidisciplinary team, including oncology nurses, social workers, dietitians and clinical psychologists to get practical advice and connect with people who have gone through the same cancer journey. With encouragement to become actively involved in treatment, and with the correct information and support, the Centre is here to empower cancer patients to live with, live through and live beyond cancer. Anyone affected by cancer is welcome to visit the Centre for assistance.

The Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation Society (“HKDCS”) is the only NGO dedicated to the conservation of whales, dolphins and porpoises of Hong Kong, focusing on Chinese white dolphins and finless porpoises, indigenous in Hong Kong. Chinese White Dolphins mostly occur in waters around Lantau Island and the nearby Pearl River Estuary, while finless porpoises mainly occur in the southern and eastern waters of Hong Kong.

HKDCS has supported scientific research on wild dolphins in Hong Kong and nearby regions for years. In recent years, large-scale coastal construction projects and frequent marine traffic near Lantau Island have threatened the local dolphins and porpoises, causing habitat loss, noise and water pollution. These factors have led to a significant decline in the Chinese white dolphin population in Hong Kong waters, dropping from 188 to 34 individuals in the past 20 years. Therefore, HKDCS works to raise public awareness on the importance of conserving our local dolphins, their living habitats through activities like friendly dolphin-watching tours, parent-child workshops, school and community sharing sessions, documentary screenings and exhibitions, and media advocacy.
